Well today is the big day! The day I go on my muggle vacation. I still don't understand how they can fly but not be on brooms. I am so excited I'm not sure I'll be able to sleep. It's just after 1am and I have to be up at 3:15am. I'm all packed with everything I could ever need.

Small change of plans though. My muggle uncle and cousins can't make it til Tuesday, so I'm thankful that my aunt is already down there and I can stay with her at her hotel until the conference is done. We'll just meet up with my uncle and cousins on tuesday in stead of monday. I cannot believe I get to go to Disney World!!!

My goodness, have I ever been busy lately. Classes are going well but that doesn't mean there is less work. Witch watchers is helping me though, and I've managed to transfigure 6.2 pounds of me into thin air. I just wish there was a way to chose where to splinch ones self while apparating. That would make this business so much easier.

Well it turns out that March is a very popular time for muggles to travel to Orlando to visit Disney World. The flights are so packed that we can't fly on my uncles passes, so I had to book a flight today and it cost me 560 galleons! I was shocked, but that was the best price. Some placed wanted double or even triple that! None the less, I'm very excited. 12 days til I get my muggle passport and 18 days til I get to leave. I couldn't be more excited!

I went down and got my forms handed in for my muggle passport today. I need it because in 20 days I will be flying, not by broom, but by airplane to Florida with my Aunt, Uncle and 3 small cousins. We are going to be going to Disney World!!! I couldn't be more excited than I am right now. I've known for a couple weeks now, but now that I am certain that my passport will infact be here in time, it's a go! I've already got the time off work and paid for my passport. So pick it up 2 weeks today and then go! I get a cheap flight because my uncle is a muggle and works for the airlines so we can fly on his family passes. It would be cheaper for me to go on my broom, but as I've never flown that far by myself before, I'll pay the 200 galleons and go with them. My young cousins are 6, 8 and 13 and the youngest has never been before. It will be fun to discover the parks with him, him for the first time, me for the first time in 10 years!!! Anyway, back to work, I had to share though. Have a great day everyone...I know I will!

Well the two weeks I've been on Witch Watchers has finally paid off. I've lost 2.8 pounds this week which is MUCH better than the 0.6 I was up last time. I have to remember not to drink so much butter beer or fire whiskey. Other than that, things are going well. I started putting together my package for my Slytherin friend as well as another swap partner. I'm very excited to send both. Anyway, I must get back to my work. Transfiguration seems to be giving me a little trouble as of late so I had better study hard for the test this week!

I managed to pick up a little something for my Slytherin friend today and for another friend in a different swap. It's very nice if I do say so myself.

I went and joined in a very odd muggle custom of putting jewelry on the body by putting holes through the skin. In other words, I pierced my nose as they call it.

What a wonderful weekend

I had the most wonderful weekend with Alfonzo. We spent some time shopping in Diagon Alley. I got a new pair of enchanted boots and two purses complete with pouches for my wand and several potion bottles. We also attended a party with some of our muggle friends. They seem to find it amusing to pretend to be other people in a weird sort of game where one of them is a murderer and we all have to figure out who it is while we have dinner. It was an odd custom but amusing none the less. Funny enough, Alfonzo's character was to be a magician. Be both found it thoroughly amusing.

This week I have much work to do as I have a test on Friday morning for Magical Business Mathematics. Unfortunately I'm not allowed a wand but I can use an odd contraption called a calculator. Hopefully it will go well. But I must be off, time to get back to work.

Going away for the weekend!

I am so very excited. I get to go away this weekend with my boyfriend Alfonzo Firewalker to visit his parents. He is also a first year Gryffindor and with his studies and mine, we don't get to spend too much time together. We've decided to head out for the weekend after classes today and come back Sunday. The only bad part is that I might end up missing the knitting meeting in the common room. I'll try and make it if we return in time.

Because we can't apparate and the two of us are unable to travel by broomstick alone, we're going to take the muggle car that I have. It's not a flying muggle car, so it should take us about 4 hours to arrive. That's not too bad though. I'll have to remember to bring my homework so I can work on it while we drive. I just hope I don't spill ink all over. Maybe I should invest in a self inking quil. Well I had better be off. It's almost time to leave. Have a great weekend everyone!

Phew, I think I finally have the school song memorized. Hooray! I know I'm not the first of the Gryffindor's but I'm close!

I ended up having to leave the great hall last night in a rush because someone jinxed my computer. Lucky for me I was a real computer nerd before I came to Hogwarts and it took me no time at all to fix it. Magic does make things faster after all. Thankfully, Professor McPotions passed me in the hall as I was racing back to the common room in a panick and he offered to help me, how sweet. We brewed up this virus removal potion from the Standard Book of Spells grade 3. I really couldn't have done it without him seeing as how I am only a first year. He sure knows his stuff. Here is a copy of the spell should any of you fall victim to the same problem I had.

The virus removal Potion

Ingredients:
One-half ounce floo powder
One spider toe
Two vials essence of mouse
3 drops oil of green slime
17 hairs from the head of a one friend
Three silver stones

Instructions:
In a cauldron, combine floo powder, spider toe and essence of mouse. Brew over low heat, repair once every 7 minutes until mixture is one and gold. Add the friend hairs; stir twice. Drop in the silver stones, one at a time.

When mixture has boiled down, take the resulting cinders and clean sick.

Incantation:
Rumble fumble toil and virus removalle
Whispius mouseius flispius

Now I really must run, I don't want to be late for Transfiguration. Hopefully Bijoux won't act up today.

Well I am disapointed that two Gryffindor's didn't post in their blog this week. That's 20 house points we lost! Hopefully everyone remembers to post this week.

Well now I am in a bit of a fix. I am supposed to meet in the common room with my Gryffindor Girls but that is also the night of my knitting group with my friends from back home when I am not at Hogwarts. What am I to do? I'll have to ponder this and see what would be the best.

Construction of my pal's bag is going well. I still haven't heard from mine though. Starting to get disapointed, rather than worried or annoyed. Swaps are no fun if you don't get to communicate with your partner. Oh well. I'll just make sure to spend the extra time on my Slytherin friend!

I had best be off, almost time for Potions. HOORAY!!

I wasn't able to make the meeting last night as I had detention, and then I managed to sneak out of the castle through one of the secret passage ways to meet my boyfriend at the Hogs Head for some butter beer. We had a wonderful evening together. I also managed to stop in at a craft store and get some supplies for my partners bag. I've sent an owl to one of my aunts to ask her for some advice on how to construct the bag so hopefully I hear back soon!

I still haven't heard from my partner who is supposed to be spoiling me. I'm starting to get worried that she's not going to contact me and what fun would that be if I'm not in contact with her. We shall see I suppose.

Busy Busy Busy

Just as the title says, I have been very busy lately with school work. Potions is going well, I knew I would love going after I took one look at Prof McPotions as some of the other Gryffindor girl's have nicknamed him. I wasn't so fortunate in Transfiguration though, infact I have detention on Thursday evening. While trying to turn my kitten Bijoux into a vase I must have mis pronounced part of the spell and instad she transformed into a tiger cub, and a frisky one at that. She took off from my desk jumping around the classroom, knocking things over and breaking others. I was in such a tizy that I forgot how to change her back in to regular tiny Bijoux. Thankfully the professor was able to sort things out, but not before tiger Bijoux managed to claw and rip the professors robes. Needless to say I am stuck in detention sewing up the robes by hand the muggle way. I think it's very unfair that I can't use magic to do it. I am going to be there forever if I have to do it by hand. At least I don't have to buy brand new ones, that would be much worse!

But I must run, I'm meeting some girls in the library to work on our history of magic homework. Until next time!

I have been so busy getting ready for classes that I forgot to post about my swap partner. She's a first year Slytherin named Matilda Edgecombe. I have to start planning what I'm going to send her. I have already e-mailed her to see if there is anything in peticular she would like but I have yet to hear back from her.

I am looking forward to potions today. The professor is supposed to be very handsome. I hope he's not so good looking that I will be distracted from my studies, but maybe it will keep me motivated to do well. If potions is anything like muggle cooking, I may have a bit of trouble. My first week at Hogwarts

After much excitement and shopping for my supplies, I finally made it to Hogwarts! Mum and Dad were with me to see me off on the Hogwarts Express. I have never seen such a beautiful train, shining as if it were brand new. I managed to find a space on the train but I kept to myself reading some of my new books and writing a letter to my older sister Frances who is away in Ireland. Lucky for me, when we arrived, I was sorted into Gryffindor house. Everyone seems pretty nice but I have yet to make a friend. I'm sure it won't take long though. I'm excited for the start of term and for all the fun to being. But I must get going, I still have to unpack my trunk. Until next time!
